960/90 Series Observations or Gripes, depending on your mood. 900

Until I'vd owned Volvos, I've never been partial to OE replacement parts. Perhaps that's because I've always owned Ford and GM products.... till the Volvos.

At first I thought it was hype.... How Volvo OE was 'so much better' than aftermarket parts. But, after comparing a variety of parts.... I was sold.

IMHO, Volvo OE parts ARE BETTER than any aftermarket parts that I have compared. Bar none.

With that said..... How can Volvo do so well on most parts, yet fail so myserably on others (IMHO).

Vacuum bellows that all go bad long before they should.

Radiators that crack in the same damn spot, every one of them.

Rear bushings on the front lower control arms.

PNP Sensors.

Fuel Gauge sending units.

I could go on and on but there's no sense. Some parts are spec'd to be bullet proof, others almost compete with Wal-Mart.

There is so much knowledge on this list.... that if Volvo still made the 960/S90, by now, Brickster's could tell them how to improve a few certain parts and then Volvo would have bulletproof, Honda-type quality on these cars.

End of rant.
