88 240 dl wagon , Again i am here looking for information ! This is a 4 month problem that i cannot solve ? He is the lowdown ... Starts great runs great for about 12-15 minutes then it turns to crap idle's very erratic. I figured out that the injector closest to the back of the motor "when i unpluged it" did not make a difference in the idle but all of the others did make a big difference . So i pulled the rail and replaced the bad injector did the unplug test and it was working ,and i thought for sure that i had brought my baby back to life to run forever again! Took her down the road and it ran great for about 15 miles then it hit again bam same problem ? got her home and pulled the inj... wire off and it made no difference! Grrrrrrr Here is what i have done in the past 4 months trying to fix this problem ; Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, o2 sensor, tps sensor, cleaned throttle body, both fuel pumps, fuel filter, pick-up in the dist... changed ignition module in the engine, changed ecm thingy in passenger side foot area , main relay "fuel-ignition" checked for vacuum leaks and ran a compression test, intake gasket. I guess i maybe have a wire harness issue ? or something is getting hot and is shutting off ? even when the injector does nothing when i pull it off i can still hear it ticking with the screwdriver to ear test ! Ok sorry for the long post , I am going to get hammered now at a friend house and the wife is driving hoot.
