’93 245 Front Door Speakers – Installation Questions 200

5 ¼” OEM speakers in front door panels are shot. Stopped working a couple of months ago and recently fell out of the door panels – the bracket rivets tore through the door panel pressboard. Other needs on the car preclude spending too much on replacements and I want to keep the OEM grills. I intend to use
5 ¼” Pioneer TS-G1340R speakers - $30 at etronics. A couple of installation questions that I could really use help with: 1) I assume the 5 ¼” Pioneers will simply mount to the OEM brackets or is an adapter required? 2) More importantly, how can I repair/reinforce the pressboard so I can reattach the brackets?
