First Drive and Third Gear Trouble. 120-130

Take off the boot and check the travel of the shift lever into third. It could be a simple adjustment to allow the lever to go back another 1/4 inch. Syncros do not normally go out in third before 1st and 2nd fail, there is very little stress on the third gear shift. Unless the prior owner liked to show off to his buddies and speed shift!
My Jeep used to pop out of 4th when decellerating, until I found that some one moved the entire gate forward about 1/2 inch. Works like it should now.
