So I just got back from the state inspection station w/ my 88 Brick........ 200

with a big smile on my face.

Purchased the car for $1200, 130K miles, auto, rust free body/mint interior. Replaced the following parts:
1. Exhaust, cat back. ($110)
2. 3 wheel studs/lugs ($6)
3. Oil/Filter+air filter ($20)
4. All belts but timing belt ($25)
5. Cooling hoses ($15)
6. Valve cover gasket ($7)
7. New spark Plugs ($10)

So I've got a whopping $1400 into the car. Drives super well, 26mpg, I just love it.

So I pull into the station and the first guy is doing his thing. Then he calls me back over and I'm like, Oh sh*t, what's wrong? He says, man, this car is super nice. It's in fantastic shape, where did you get it? So we talk for a few minutes and he tells me how solid the car seems.

Then it's off for the brake test, etc w/ the next fella. He calls me over. "So, this is really an 88?" Yup. He shakes his head, man this car is passing with flying colors. It did much better than a lot of new cars that I see come through here. He gives me the sheet showing the emissions levels. The old girl was WELL below in every category. He slaps a 2 year sticker on and away I go.

Best car I've ever owned. Just thought I'd share.
