Fuel Gage

I just repaired mine. Fuel guage stopped working about 1 year ago @ $700.00 for a sending unit I got by with the trip meter to figure amount of fuel available. A week ago I had a starting problem, no power to pump, it turned out to be the fitting you refered to. I pulled the unit and drilled 4 small holes through the plastic fitting where it enters the tank. I was able to cut 3 wires from the tank side and extend them outside where I soldered them to the harness. I ran a new ground to the tank side and soldered it to the existing pin. I sealed both sides with fuel tank sealant, also just below filler tube where it had rusted through. So far fuel pump runs gas guage indicates. Good luck
