I put Boge Turbo Gas struts and shocks, IPD's sport springs (TME) and 25mm front and rear IPD sway bars on my '79 242DL. It's a great ride. Not too harsh like Bilstein sports, but still corners incredibly well. I'd say that the sway bars will be the best bang for the buck if you dont have the cash to do the whole package. BUT, I would recommend that you do it all at once if you can afford it. The difference is like night and day compared to stock suspension.
