Steam from vent? 700

While driving to work today, my '90 740 decided to start blowing steam out of all the vents even though I had the fan set to off, the temp setting all the way to cold, A/C has never worked, and air set to blow via the defrosting vents.

I also heard some sort of light spraying sound like a broken hose, coming from within the center console area. And I happened to notice a drip or two of water on the passenger floor area where the ground is now wet. Lets not forget my temperature gauge has pegged to the red zone.

My guess is some sort of device that deals with the coolant/water has leaked. Any ideas what the source is?

As much as I love her, I think it's time to scrap this ole junker! I'm not having fun with ongoing saga of repairing her.
