Electrical glitch-- S90-V90

Just got through making the repair to my headlight-the low beam bulb (the main concern) has now been rewired and soldered-question there was some corrosion in the bulb base itself from the heat generated-cleaned the contacts with spray contact cleaner and cleaned the bulb base up-will the corrosion there possibly cause this problem to reocur-matched pair of white bulbs I got off ebay not long ago is the reason I'm balking at just throwing a new bulb in the place of the old one.
Thanks
Poolman
