tranny leak 200 1986

Is it normal for transmssion fluid to leak when the clutch housing is removed from the gearbox? I replaced the paper gasket, but did not use sealing compund and did not torque the connection bolts to spec. I am now losing 2[mL/day] from where the gearbox meets the clutch housing. If I were to remove the transmission again and use sealant and torque the bolts by the book, would it be worth the trouble.

I am now adding fluid every month to compensate for my loss and put a pan underneath when parked to monitor the leak and to lessen ground contamination.
I am also thinking of replacing the fluid input plug bolt with a valve connected to a permanent hose running to the engine bay so I can fill up from above. The question here is whether to use a valve? If I place a valve right beside the tranny input hole, I pretty much have the same fluid motion as before , and I would use a screw-on cap at the end to keep dirt out. If I just run a hose to the engine bay, I have a different fluid flow field, but I don't have to get down and stick my arm under the car to open/close a valve that is not even needed in this design. Any of these 2 setups would be easier to build than removing the transmission and 'maybe' getting rid of the leak. Thanks for reading such a long post!
