10W30 vs 15W50 700 1990

Hey all. Thinking if switching to Mobil-1 15W50 instead of my usual 10W30 oil changes. Hoping it may cut down on oil consumption (which is about 2 litres/6000kms) if i go to a thicker oil. (B230FT). The turbo does blow a bit of oil around but not as much as i had originally thought. Any thoughts??
