Adjusting the valves on my B-20

Do it the Volvo way, ignore Haynes. The Volvo way takes minutes.

Set the engine to top dead centre. There are timing marks on the front pulley. You will now have either No 4 or No 1 Cylinder firing. You can tell which by wiggeling the rockers, the cylinder on the firing stroke will have play in both rockers, the other one will have a valve partially open, hence no play on one rocker, if you're not sure look at which lead the rotor arm is pointing.

On No 1 firing adjust vales 1, 2, 3 and 5. Now turn the engine a full revolution, number 4 is now firing, adjust valves 8, 7, 6 and 4

Put back rocker cover, drive off into the sunset.

Regards

Pete
