86 240 front end thunk / noise 200

I've replaced about everything on the front end of the 240 in the past 10k miles except the inner tie rod ends and the A arm bushings. Can't find anything that is loose about the a arms or the tie rod ends. Maybe I don't know how to check it thoroughly. I mostly hear this metal to metal thunk when I back out of a parking spot. It seems to happen when the wheels are turned (either way).

Do you all have suggestions about what to check and how to check them? I can shake the car all around, kick the tires, wiggle the tires, etc. and I can't get any such sound. Kicking your car is for advanced mechanics - don't try this yourself. Seriously -- if I jack up the tire and kick it I can usually tell if something like a tie rod is worn. I've been under the car and don't see anything obviously loose.

Thanks, Chad
