Testing Fuel Pump 200 1980

The Lambda sond (oxygen sensor) was used on later K-Jet and all LH systems; you can't tell them part just from its presence.

The LH system came in during the 1982 model year, so your 1980 system is K-Jet. It uses a higher pressure pump than the LH, so you need the right part.

If you look at http://www.fcpgroton.com/volvo240fuelpump.htm you will see the different part numbers for those applications. Given the critical nature of the pump (you're stopped dead if it fails), and the reliability of the Bosch units, I'd spend the extra.

If direct battery power doesn't run your present pump, that's a pretty convincing sign that it's shot. I presume you are exposing the terminals right on the pump and connecting 12V to them.
