Shiftlock override/ oil light/ and temp guage??? 900 1994

Got this car 3 weeks ago, clean enough and only 132k. Oil was black and P.O. said the light had just come on a week or 2 prior. Changed the oil and it is pumping and circulating well up to the ohc area. Light is still on, maybe with a while of driving the sensor will reactivate with the new clean oil. The temp guage rises just off its rest pin and doesn't show engine temp and the shiftlock override button must be pushed to get the car out of park. I tried jamming the switch down, works fine for shifting thru p r n d l but the key can not be switched off for removal from the ignition. What a P.I.T.A. this setup is. any ideas for resolution.
