Wagons - 940, 850 and V70 - Want opinions 200

Might need a wagon soon. Been hunting around for awhile for a good 93-95 940 turbo wagon. Tough find. Think that beast is almost extinct now...

So, that got me thinking about a FWD Volvo. The prices for 96 and 97 850 and 98 V70's are getting pretty reasonable in this area. Cheaper than a 940 turbo wagon in many cases. My thinking is that if you buy, for example, a 97 850 wagon for say $3000, even if something goes wrong with it, you are still financially ahead of the game compared to buying a nice 940 turbo wagon for 5 or 6K.

Plus the 850 or V70 get better gas mileage. Around 30 MPG highway as I understand.

Looking for some feedback and discussion. Does anyone want to try and talk me out of this FWD madness or am I onto something? Financially, anyways....

Thanks all,

Jim
