85 240GL engine does not start... 200 1985

Hello,

I have a 85 240GL wagon. The engine does not start but the starter motor operates. There is no spark at the center terminal of the distributor cap.

(1) After having changed:

- battery & cables
- ignition wire set
- ignition distributor
- cap distributor
- coil ignition
- coil cable.

the picture was still the same...


(2) I asked a Volvo/Mercedes/BMW mechanic to perform a test and he
told me I need a new 'engine wire harness'. I bought a used wire harness at http://www.bartonharness.com for $190.00 and installed it. Still the same picture! No spark at the center terminal of the
distributor cap.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
