95 960 FOB

I'm having trouble getting a remote entry fob working on my newly acquired
95 965.

I have a 96 960 which uses the fob where the un/lock buttons are arranged
over top of each other (vertically), I also purchased a fob
on ebay reasonably where they are oriented side by side (horizontally).

I can succesfully reporgram the 96 965 to use the two vertical fobs.
But I cannot get the 95 to recognize any of them.

The 95 has a slight ignition switch problem where when you start the car
it does not return to position II automatically. Is there something
messed up in the ign. switch? Did somebody try to poke around in there
and possibly dosconnect something simple?

P.S. I haven't priced a new ign. switch yet. Still getting my winter projects in-order.
