AMP question 700

Volvo had several different configurations for EQ's amplifiers and the like with cross compatability of the units. The DIN connector has line-level outputs and you will find the actual amplifier itself located under the steering column just to the left. Those use TDa 7508's or other japaneese variants to deliver 15 watts/speaker at 4 ohms with incredible intermodulated distortion levels and DC offsets thanks to the bridging configuration...

Remove and replace with a good amp using the line-level outs from the head end or go with an aftermarket all together. Much of the equipment was made by Hitachi with a few offshoots from Pioneer and Sanyo.
