Heater diffuser/channel removal 120-130

All right, I'm tired of the hurricane (not PC?) coming up from the shifter hole. I figured that with only one screw the heater diffuser/channel should come out easily to allow me to install the shifter boot with a minimum of fuss. Um, NOT!

Can someone clue me into the trick for removing that plastic tube (on the tunnel, sending air to the rear passenger area). Does it slide some direction to release a tab or is it just glued on there with body putty? Don't care to Conan it and have another thing to repair.

Thanks,
--
Mike!
