Unplugged IAC makes no difference....runing rich under boost. 700 1988

I'm posting and running, so no big details here.....the car runs rich under boost, especially, some black smoke coming out and not the full amount of power I've come to expect out of a 230ft.

After checking, swapping and putzing with everthing but the ECT (I know, i will..) I tried unpugging the IAC at idle and there is no change. Revving it up and letting it go back to idle doesn't seem to affect it eithier, plugged in or not.

I can't make a connection between my rich running problem and the IAC, but hey, can anyone else????

Thanks very much in advance.

Joshua
