anyone do the front struts on a V90? S90-V90

Get a good quality spring compressor. They hold a lot of spring tension and your life and limbs are worth a few extra dollars.

The lower control arms (LCA's) will support the hubs when you remove the struts.

If you also work on the LCAs, then R & R the struts first and they will hold the hubs while you work on the LCA's.

If you want to do the struts and the LCA's at the same time (which I don't recommend), then yes you will have to support the hub/brake caliper assembly.

No an alignment is not needed. Whether you replace the mounts or not. If replacing the mounts and/or bearings.......I marked the bolt locations on the strut towers and installed the new mounts in the same exact position.

It's not a bad job, just take your time and be safe.
