Low floats? 140-160 1970

You have to imagine the level of fuel in the jet tube at rest. As the low pressure in the carb throat must pull fuel up, before it enters that air stream, the weight of the fuel comes into play and the mixture will be leaned out somewhat.
At full power most engines run better (huge generalization I know) but imagine that a four banger with a shorted spark plug and down to three cylinders will run smoothly at 4000.....
