My 95 945 ran well for 2 years, now sometimes will not start hot 900 1995

My 95 940 wagon has been excellent until 2 weeks ago. It would not start hot and I had to tow it home. Had spark at number one plug (pulled the cable and put a spare plug in the cable and saw spark when cranking. I had zero fuel flow at the inlet of the injector rail. (broke the fitting loose and routed the fuel to a container - no flow). Later that day I tried again and fuel flow was present. Reconnected the rail and it started right up. I got a new fuel pump relay from Volvo and installed it. Drove it for a week with no problems. Then on Saturday, after going to several stops, it would not start hot again. After sitting for 40 minutes, it started up and has been staring ever since. Can this be vapor lock? It never happened during the hottest months the past 2 summers in Phila. Is there a sessor that shuts off the pump? Could the pump be failing intermittently. This 940 appears to have a single pump in the tank. Please point me in the right direction.
