OBD diagnostic codes retrieval procedure? 900 1991

Hello all,

I'm confused by the FAQ re: the procedure for the FI computer diagnostic code retrieval. Under "3. Diagnostic Test Mode 2 System Sensor Signal Test as to whether signals are received from certain sensors and switches" it says as one of the steps "Crank the starter motor". Does it mean actually starting the engine, or just turning the starter over and stopping before engine start? I suspect the former, but just to make sure...

Also, how do I know whether I have Bosch LH2.4 or Motronic 1.8 Fuel Injection? The FAQ seems to imply that I may have either, but has no info on identifying which one. The car is a 1991 944T.

TIA,

Alex
