Me too. But I recognize it's all in our perception.
Other more direct folks would just say "the ECU went bad, and I replaced it with..." and that would be the end of it.

Guys like us, on the other hand, spend an afternoon or maybe a week d***ing around with it and come up with a term paper analysis of the entire history of the design and manufacture of that component and the relative merits of all the possible remedies.
