Jumping speedo/poor idle after tune-up 900 1991

Ok, I just did a cap & rotor, plugs and oil change on my '91 940 Turbo. It has had some starting problems for a while, so I figured it was time to tune it up. I put in new Bosch plugs and set the gap at .028. Since it has always had a problem in wet weather, I took a bit of grease and applied it to the spindles (for lack of a proper term) where the wires attach to the distributor. After the job was done I started the car, and noticed the idle was fluctuating. While looking at the tach I noticed the speedometer would intermittently jump while the car was in park! It seems to run fine while I'm accelerating, but at idle in gear it acts like it wants to die. Idling in park or neutral is a fairly steady 750rpm. Sitting at a light is very nerve racking because it acts like it's going to stall. The car has 230,000 miles on it. I must mention the car is low on gas right now (gas light not on but low). I just finished working on it and haven't put in gas yet. Does anyone have any suggestions? The thing I find the most odd is the speedo jumping in park. Before the tune-up none of this has ever happened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have to try to drive it to work tomorrow!
Ok, I went & put in gas and it made no difference...
