Just thought Id pass this along--after playing around with used o/d solenoids and replacing spent wiring from the shift button down to the solenoid--I bought the by pass plate-which deletes the need of the solenoid and keeps the trans in O/D at all times--it works great. IPD has them available now--39 bucks. After looking at it tonite before installing--saw that there is not much to making the part oneself-but--nonetheless--happy with the ipd part. Thought this info might help those with erratic o/d operation and were tired of it all. Also--dont think I really had the need to drive an automatic volvo out of o/d mode anyway.
