Transmission stuck 120-130

I'm trying to remove my M41 tranny from my 67 Volvo 122 and it will not move. My old transmission went in and out with ease. This one when I recently installed it I had to pull it in by using the four transmission bolts. Could it be hung up on the pilot bearing or something? I can get a screw driver in between the bell housing and the tranny and pry a little but I'm afraid it might do damage to the aluminum bell housing. Maybe loosen up the bell housing and see if that helps? If you have any suggestions they would be apreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
