smart valve orfice tube applause 700

Just giving my thumbs up to the info I find on this site. I had a firestone do an ac conversion on my 740 last year, and was never satisfied with the results. They changed the dryer, and the noisy compressor (rebuilt sanden equally noisy),I don't remember if they changed the orfice tube. After reading some of the archived posts, I put a variable valve orfice tube in my 740 last weekend and brought it to a good shop to have it evacuated. It has never blown so cold. I'm in Florida, and the other day in blazing sunshine it got down to 38.4 at the vent. I was hoping it might quiet down the compressor a bit, but as long as it's working, I'm leaving it alone.
Thanks again to all who contribute to this great site.
Jon
