Have a 87 740T that has the ignition cutting out randomly and have traced it back to the Ignition Moudle (bosch). I purchased a Beck Arnely brand replacement at NAPA and it runs great at idle. Under load is another issue. It surges and cuts out when boost is present and also pings and knocks very badly.Replacing with the defective Bosch unit that cuts out intermittantly resores the running back to how it should be. I took the first one back thinking it was defective and the second one does the same. Checked and the module is the correct one speciried for the car.
Any ideas other than trying to get a Bosch unit??? Am I missing something here??
