K&N or Spectre Oiled Cone Filter verses stock 700

Hi all:

Does anyone have any information on the K&N or Spectre Oiled Cone Filters? How do they compare to stock? And are they safe?

Some clips on my Airbox are broken off. As a result I check my filter often. The other day I found a corner of the filter sucked in allowing unfiltered air through this section. NOT GOOD, thank god I check it often! I glued the filter to the Air Box cover. But I need to do something ASAP.

I'm unsure whether to replace the Air Box or use a K&N or Spectre cone filter. I'm not looking for a performance increase. The B230FT is fine the way it is. I'm looking for good filtering with maybe an increase in MPG.

Pep boys have the Spectre on sale for $24.95. I might use it temporarily unless someone tells me differently.

Finally, will the excess oil from the filter affect the Mass Airflow Meter?

Thanks again, as always
