heater core hose 700 1987

i have an '87 740 Turbo wagon with M46 transmission and about 240km. It seems like my hose from the engine to the heater core/fire wall is leaking - i lost about 3/4 gallon while driving 10 miles. i can't really see how and where the hose is mounted on the engine. But since it is VERY wet in this region it is my only guess - ... BUT how do i get there?!?!? Do i have to take off the intake manifold?? Can i get there from underneath (i didn't want to crawl with my trousers from work under my car) ;-)
Is there anything else that could leak there??
thx. for any help and tips
