Unitended/Continued accelleration 700 1991

Does your vehicle have cruise control? If your problem/symptom is REPEATABLE, I would disconnect the cable from the cruise control actuator(the black diaphram) to the throttle spool by removing the cable. If the problem continues, then it's NOT the cruise control and your have eliminated one possibility. Reinstall the cable.

Changing one thing at a time, and then testing to determine if there is a change in symptom, is a basic tool of troubleshooting. Eliminate what is NOT the problem one step at a time. Work forward and then backward never changing two things at a time.
