Headlight replacement question -- fireworks avoidance 101 120-130

I wouldn't say crude. A first step, sure.
I swaped to 55W/60W H4 style on my 140s with no problems.
Sometimes you can "feel the heat" through the light switch also. That's when I would look for too many amps somewhere. Fortunately, that hasn't happened to me yet on the cars with the H4 lights. Has happened on the 6V 544 though with plain old sealed beams.
Definately clean and grease the connections at the new headlights in any case.
