Setting the timing. 120-130

It looks like the vacuum unit is giving you about 20°of advance.
(You didn't really expect the same readings with vac advance connected
and disconnected, did you?)
Are you getting centrifugal advance also? (more advance as engine speeds up)
I really hate resetting everything so I just set the timing with everything
still connected. I set it to about 20° BTDC and it works pretty well with
either the old distributor (centrifugal only) or a vacuum advance distributor.
If I get pinging, I retard it a bit.
Normally overheating is associated with retarded timing.
