Project Brick-in-a-Vaux Update and BW55 Question 200

Update for October. The B21F in on an engine stand I built last month. I've cleaned it, but will degrease it once more before I start any more work. Here's my question. There are wires running to the front of the transmission case on the passengers side of the bellhousing. They connect to a plug up near the cam cover which was never plugged into anything for the 10 years I owned it. I thought it was some kind of service connector. What is it? 1981 BW55 tranny's are not an electric lock-up converter model are they? Was this something that should have been plugged in decades ago and wasn't? Was this for a cruise control unit? The car once had it before I owned it but it had been removed by the previous owner. Anyone know what this wire is for?
I've been side-tracked for now. My 87 240 was rear ended at one of those red-light camera stops last month. I had gotten a ticket there a month earlier for not making a complete stop before a right hand turn. RedFlex uses streaming video now so there's no way of getting out of the fine. I never attempt to run the yellow at this intersection because it only stays yellow for only 1.5 seconds and there is no way to beat it if you are too close. (13 flashes of the crosswalk don't walk, then yellow) My co-worker's girlfriend got a ticket there for speeding up to make the yellow. She made it before it turned red, but got a 10+over mph ticket. There's no way to win. Anyway, the insurance co. totaled my car, but I bought it back and am repairing the dammage so I can get my title changed back from a salvage title. Good thing I've been hoarding 240 parts. I will have to use an older style rear bumper though. I want to get it back on the road before the snow falls.
