Trunk adjustment, and more 700

The right front edge of the trunk on my son's 1984 760T had always fit too high. It didn't fit tight to the trunk seal and always leaked some water. It is some work to remove the interior pieces to access the trunk hinge adjustment, and I had been putting it off for some time. I recently removed the trim over the doors, back seat, and trim around the rear window, and rear parcel shelf to make the adjustment. I found the factory had fit the trunk as tightly as they could, and there was no adjustment left. You can see the allen bolt in the center of the hinge pivot in the picture below.

I removed the hinge and cut 5/16" out of it, and welded it back together while keeping the hinge square to its original orientation. You can see the finished product in the picture below.

The trunk now fits fine and does not leak. The trunk lid used to fit 1/4" higher than in the picture.
