Vibration Diagnosis-Steering Left and When in Reverse 200

Hi Folks, I need your help in diagnosing a vibration problem in my 1992 245, with an automatic transmission. I originally thought the problem was a worn out front passenger side wheel bearing. But after replacing the bearings, the vibration still occurs. If I'm going about 55 mph and steer to the left I get a strong vibration and the steering wheel shakes. Another strange symptom is that when I put the vehicle in reverse and back down my driveway, the gear selector stick thumps and vibrates back and forth and there is a thumping that I hear. Any help in diagnosing this problem is appreciated. I'm guessing that they are somehow related.

Thanks,
