Synthetic oil 700 1989

I have been thinking about switching to Synthetic oil, my 745 has 366,801km's on her. I had a valve spring break last winter and ended up redoing the head. I 've been looking into syn oil and find that it doesn't thicken up it the cold, should be better for the engine! Any thougths or experience with syn oil? Any feedback appreciated.
