I, too , have a no start 740 problem!... 700 1987

I drove this car in to the driveway to take care of a wet carpet situation.Have everything wrapped up and now it will crank, but will not start.I did notice that I wasn't hearing the pump whir, so I checked #1 &#!! fuses, and swapped them out for new.I also pulled the relay, out .Tried a known good one, no luck.Actually put the suspect relay in running car and it worked fine.
I didn't do anything with any of the console. The only wires I dealt with were seat heaters.Where did it all go wrong?
I intend to change the sparkplugs tommorrow, just in case I've flooded it.I would really like some direction to help me out.I admit it.I'm not adept with a multi-meter.And I don't throughly understand the workings of fuel injection systems.

I think the reason I like the Volvo, is that it feels like a floating tank on the road, and their amazingly long life!My thanks in advance!
