Anti Lock Brake Error Light on Dash 700 1989

I've got a constant error light message concerning the anti lock brakes on the '89 760 GLE. The brakes work fine. It seems I heard or read somewhere that a dirty sensor will send faulty information to the error light. Anything to be concerned about?
