back-fire when cold 200

My 164 does that when it is hot and being restarted. The injectors either leak a little and get the plugs wet, or the butterfly in the throttle isn't open enough on restart.
Because yours happens when the engine is cold, it could be a lot of things. A mix of too much gas and not enough air brings to mind the AMM, a torn warm air tube, a sticky butterfly valve at the throttle, PCV dirty, dirty plugs, leaky injectors, timing off, leak in the vacuum system, etc. Too many variables. Sorry. I wish I could pin the tail on the donkey,
Klaus
