Update ! /I, too , have a no start 740 problem!... 700 1987

First thing to do: check to see if you have pos voltage at injectors (green wire). If not, check out your radio interference supression relay (mounted on coolant tank)and also check to see if you have a ballast resistor (mounted next to power stage above and behind battery)If there is one, check it too.
Second: if the pos voltage is not the problem, check the cranking rms voltage across the inj. terminals. To do this, stick the two voltmeter probes into one of the injector plugs and watch as you crank. It should be around 2. If it is lower, then check the injector function: find terminal 13 on ecu, then ground it momentarily, with key in on position. You should hear the injectors click, and when you try to start it, it should run for a second or two. If you get to this point, you're on your own. Please email me if you get to this point and then go on and fix it, as I have an 87 740 that will not start, and that's as far as I've gotten. My email: nkirmmse (at) hotmail.com
