PV544 Engine Bay Photos 444-544 1964

OK, certainly not 'factory stock!' This is how the engine bay looks today; I'm looking for a set of those Kohler air filters, and I'm already working on polishing out the intake manifold and carbs - note mirror finish on SU dashpots!

Right side of engine. The air filter covers are easier to see, and you can see the tops of the polished dashpots from here. The NASCAR blower is installed in the air intake tube for the heater (black section.)

This is the dash/interior of my car. Although it looks good, I'm still having trouble with the 'idiot lights' and dash lights; my hands are just too big to fit up there and snap them in place, and the wires are too short to install the bulbs before putting the gauge panel back into the dash.

Also, the P.O installed a shifter that's too far forward to reach with the seatbelts on. I've been gathering parts to build a new linkage and shifter so it'll be in a better location.

This is the B20 badge I cut from brass plate stock. I used my computer to set up the design, then I cut it out with a scroll saw. It's not quite what I want, but it'll do for now. The next version will have studs on the back instead of fold-over tabs.

I'll be posting more phtos and updates about construction on my website: http://www.geocities.com/steve_sms
