Fuel filter from hell 200 1988

I started out thinking this was just a regular routine matinence item that wouldn't take much time at all, I have been working on the fuel filter bolts for about 4 hours now and they just will not budge.I think this is the original filter so, needles to say it a little cruddy. Is there any tricks to getting those suckers loose when they just don't want to move?
