One more ? On oil filters..and gaskets 700 1985

Is there a gasket where the oil filter goes on the block? I am not asking about the gasket on the oil filter. For some reason my car leaks around that area, maybe something with the turbo. But I thought I remember reading about a gasket on the engine side where the filter screws on.
