I was told once

Well, it could only be the 240 and it might be an interpretation of the early 90's Inst. for Hwy Safety study that tabulated DRIVER deaths per 100,000 registered vehicles. The 240 came in first with 0 deaths (using that stat and rounding off maybe?) followed by the 7-series with 0.7 deaths. This study was done on 89-92 model years as I recall although I have it here at my desk somewhere. Note that 0 per 100,000 does not mean absolute zero.
