All instrument cluster lights on when driving? 700 1992

It's probably either the ground wire coming from the alternator (short blue wire), or the small red wire with the spade connector on the backside of the alternator. My 87 760T did the same thing - all lights came on - when the red wire went bad. I first tried to just splice in a new wire - I traced it back to the grey connector by the firewall, cut the old wire, removed and re-used the small bullet-type plug that goes into the grey connector, and ran the new wire to the alternator spade. It worked, but I ended up changing the entire wiring harness on the car a few weeks later, so I can't tell you how permanent the fix would had been.
