Heater valve replacement

First, why would you buy a used heater valve when these fail regularly without warning and cost less than $25? Installing a used unit is a tremendous risk: if it blows, your head gasket is toast. They have a maximum reliable lifetime of about eight years.

To get the hoses off, read the FAQ section on replacing the valve.
